At Promise Youth Ocean Therapy: Didi Hirsch

The Jimmy Miller Foundation provides a unique Ocean Therapy experience for “at-promise” youth (formerly termed “at-risk”) in the Los Angeles area. The Ocean Therapy sessions couple group discussions with individual surfing instruction, body surfing, water safety education, and sometimes just sand castle building. Many of our at-promise participants have never been in the ocean before or even been to the beach in their lives! We love sharing these experiences with them!

Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services has provided mental health, substance use disorder and suicide prevention services since 1942. Dedicated to serving communities where stigma or poverty limits access, Didi Hirsch provides quality, compassionate care to more than 189,000 people annually across its programs. We work with children and adults from 11 locations and 74 schools throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties each year.
