YA OT Session: Stepping Forward LA

The Jimmy Miller Foundation provides a unique Ocean Therapy experience for Young Adults in the Los Angeles area. The Ocean Therapy sessions couple group discussions with individual surfing instruction, body surfing and water safety education. Many of our participants have never been in the ocean before or even been to the beach in their lives! We love sharing these experiences with them!

Stepping Forward LA was designed to elevate the voices of young adults who have been through foster care. Since our founding, their direct experience has helped us design and carry out programs that their peers need most.

Each year, 40+ former foster youth interns work with our program staff on special projects that benefit youth in the system, providing them with a meaningful way to give back to future generations.
