JMMF Surf Meet-Up Sessions are unique, therapist-led experiences that combine the benefits of surfing and exposure to the ocean with community-integrated discussions about mental, physical and emotional health.
These sessions are open to all Veterans and their family members and are held in Solana Beach with help from our friends at the Solana Beach VFW and Project Restore Hope. JMMF has been providing access to the ocean for over 15 years in the spirit of our inspiration, Jimmy Miller - a passionate waterman we lost too soon to mental health issues.
These meet ups MOST OF THE TIME take place on the SECOND SATURDAY of each month. Please check the schedule to confirm the days!
THE SESSION
0730 - 0800: meeting at the break at tabletops. We got you with coffee, bagels and more
0800-0845: circle time on the sand with Nick
0845-0900: surf setup
0900-1030: surf time
1030-1045: debrief
1045 - 1100: wrap up
